#15 – Silver Dollar City

This past Thursday, Super Koala and I made the hour trip down to the great city of Branson to have a fantastical journey to the past at Silver Dollar City. The third time really is the charm, because we attempted to make the trip two times before. The first time it was rainy, the second it was much too hot, but Thursday was probably the best weather you can get for a day at an amusement park. Instead of waking up super early and getting to the park as soon as it opens, like most people, we decided to face the lines in return for extra sleep. If you have never been to Silver Dollar City, the parking lot is a good three minute bus ride away from the actual park. So after parking and applying sunscreen in lot five, we got on a open air tram and rode in style to the park.

We rode basically all of the rides except for one roller coaster because we ran out of time. We rode many spinning rides right in a row and it was the best!

You can't see it very well, but this is the tea cup ride. I dominated in the category of spinning as fast as possible.

However, Super Koala didn’t handle the spinning rides as well as I did, so we got a frozen lemonade to unwind.

Then we went on Silver Dollar City’s newest roller coaster, Outlaw Run, to finish out our trip. It is a wooden roller coaster with a one hundred sixty-five foot drop at the beginning, and a double cork-screw at the end! We were lucky enough to be at the front of the line for the next car that came in, so we got to pick where we wanted to sit. Of course, even though Super Koala was hesitant we got the very front seat.

After an exciting day filled with thrills, we ended our trip with a chocolate chip ice-cream cone for Super Koala and a red velvet funnel cake for me! A pretty perfect day if you ask me.
