Wrecking to the Max

Dearest Super Koala,

I did it! I officially was able to complete two postcards and two journal pages. I was not anticipating the time that it was going to take me to complete them, but I did it. For my first postcard, I did the one where you write a secrete and then destroy it. After I had already written my secrete I realized that I didn’t take a before picture, but you have done it before, so I figured it would be okay. While I was thinking of how to expertly destroy it, I came up with the great idea of making it into confetti. So, I hole punched the entire thing. It took about 25 minutes to complete, and afterwards my hand was very sore that it hurt to squeeze anything.

IMG_0121

This was my lovely pile of confetti, and I don’t think any would ever be able to put it back together again. I think it is literally in a thousand pieces. For my second one, I decided on a magical power.

IMG_0122

Of course I picked teleportation because we have only been talking about it forever. My first journal page I kind of fudged the rules a little.

IMG_0120

I tried to do this one this week, but as I was looking around for circles, I realized that it was much harder than I thought it would be, so instead I drew a lovely picture of only circles. I will say that I found the circles in my mind, and then I will have followed the rules. My second one isn’t as pretty.

IMG_0117

I decided that I would do this one, so I smeared the picture in the snow on the back porch. I guess I used too good of a pen because it didn’t smear that well. Whoops.

IMG_0118

This past weekend, as you know, was spent with the little kids and by the time I got home on Sunday all I did was sit in my room and read and watch my two episodes of Netflix. It was stressful. Saturday at the City Museum was fun, but after awhile it just got tiring. Monday night we had our Winter Concert at school. It went really well especially considering how it was looking a week leading up to the event. It was also pretty packed the entire bottom bleachers were full and the top was 3/4 full, so I would say that it was a really good night. Afterwards a group of us went out for ice cream in our tuxes and it was pretty funny. On Tuesday I signed up for the classes I want to take next year. I am really excited, and it is funny to see how the classes I thought I was going to take a month ago are completely different from what I signed up for. Wednesday we actually played music in jazz band because there was a guy at the school seeing if we could be a school of character, so Brakefield wanted us to look good in case he came in. He didn’t, but we still had fun playing. We played a song called On Green Dolphin Street, and Burritos to Go. The latter was my favorite. It made me want to get up and dance. Today there was a two hour early release at school, so I have had lots of time to get my homework and posting done. It has been a nice relaxing day. I guess that is all I have for you. Can’t wait to hear from you on Sunday.

P.S. We didn’t read on Sunday!

Neighborly Wrecking

Dearest Captain Spazzmataz,

Aren’t you proud of me?  My post is very on time this week.  However, as you mentioned in your previous post, I also only have one wrecking and post card.  This weekend has been incredibly stressful, and I just didn’t have the time to create two of each.  Next week for sure.

What made this weekend so stressful also made this weekend good.  On Saturday I was out of the house for eleven hours for speech purposes.  The team, as you know, ended up doing really well.  We took home medals in all of our events except for one and took third overall; not too shabby for a team of three.  I was very proud of them so I took them for sub-par Chinese food afterward.  Upon their request.

After speech, I had a few hours before Sparhawk got home.  I used that time to start frantically grading my personal narratives, which I still have like 30 of.  Stress.  Once he arrived, we quickly left to go to Corbin and Lauren’s.  Along with the puppy girls, of course.  The four of us along with BBKF had a sleepover of sorts.  We decided we wanted to watch movies until real late, and Corbin wanted to make us breakfast in the morning.  It was super delightful, and I got to sleep cuddled with the puppies in their guest room.  During this event we discovered Sparhawk has never seen any of the Brat Pack movies.  Legitimately none.  This horrific realization came at a rather unfortunate time, given they just took the Breakfast Club off Netflix.  We semi remedied this by having him watch Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.  I was lame and fell asleep before the end, but I made it to the parade scene, so I was happy.

After scrumptious breakfast involving steak and eggs, we made it back home.  I’ve spent all day doing horrible things like grading papers, and I’m still not done.  So much to do!  Belle and Nyxen have been extra lazy today, though.  They’ve been nice stress buddies.

My wrecking adventures this week made me very uncomfortable, but I managed to complete them.

The post card was one I’ve dreaded since I first flipped through the book.

IMG_6016

Today, I decided I’d conquer this beast.  And I had a brilliant idea.  I originally thought this one would be super weird because I’d have to put it in my immediate neighbors yards.  But that’s not true at all!  My neighborhood is huge, so I decorated it up a bit and decided to hide it in a yard on a different street.

IMG_6017 IMG_6018

I tried to write a cute message on the back, but I was rather distracted, so it came out a little iffy.  I waited for the cover of darkness to make my move.  Whilst walking the pups, I tucked it in between the fence slats of one of the backyards we regularly pass.  I happen to know nothing about them other than they have children.  It’s my hope that one of the little girls will find it, and maybe enjoy it.  I think an adult will probably just still find it creepy.

This evening’s walk also helped me complete my wrecking task!

IMG_6019

Tragically, this did not go as well as I planned.  All of the natural surfaces had no effect on the paper, and there was no proof of scraping.  In desperation, I turned to unnatural surfaces.

IMG_6020

This finally produced a result.  After scraping it on bushes, shrubs, trees, and grass, it took a brick wall, a fence, and the sidewalk to actually make marks on the paper.  This activity also made me rather uncomfortable as it’s the Super Bowl, which means Super Bowl parties, which means people congregating outside, which means witnesses to my odd scraping as I towed two puppies through a very windy neighborhood.  It was rough.

Anyway!  I’m going to continue my paper grading.  Wish me luck.  I love you, and I hope you had a nice weekend with not too much hating everyone!

Super Koala

Wrecking in the Room

Dearest Super Koala,

I am sorry that you are already asleep and wont be able to read this tonight. As soon as I finished my homework, mom asked me to go to the mall with her where we spent two hours doing just about nothing. Then when I got home I had to practice, so here I am, finally doing my post, late as usual. (But you are far later than I am).

Anyway, Friday through Monday I was with you, so of course you know how my weekend went. Tuesday I had to go back to school. It was not fun at all. I remember the days where I was excited to go back to school, but now I just want to stay home all of the time. Since I have been keeping my room clean, I have been less bored. I have know idea why, but it is a correlation I have noticed. When my desk starts to get a little mess, I get a little lazy and bored. As soon as I clean it up, I am no longer bored and have an abundance of things that I could do. I find it very strange. Wednesday was pretty normal. I had fun in jazz band. We broke a chair. Mr. P claimed to be all that is man. Pretty typical stuff. Thursday I woke up a half an hour late, but I still left the house at the same time as I always do. I realized that I can wake up like fifteen minutes later and still have plenty of time to get ready. That night Dad and I went to the Fox and saw Cinderella. It was surprisingly very good. I was expecting it to be a little kids show, but the plot line was very different and there were many jokes that I know went straight over the kids’ heads. It was kind of like when we went to see Lemony Snicket. All of the kids were laughing at all of his jokes, but we knew that they didn’t really get what he was saying. There were some pretty adorable little girls dressed up as Cinderella though. There was this one girl who had on a blue sparkly dress, a white fluffy coat, and little clear plastic shoes that lit up when she walked. It was basically the cutest thing ever. Today we had a rock em’ sock em’ robots tournament in jazz band. We had brackets and every thing. It was very official. I guess that is all I have to tell you. We have talked on the phone a lot this week, so I kind of already told you all of the exciting things.

For my wrecking, I found two more things that I could do from my bedroom, but I am really going to have to start preparing them beforehand. For my postcard I went on a more creative route.

IMG_0073

I had always put off doing this card, but I really don’t know why. The idea for what to do came to me very quickly.

IMG_0075

My way of bettering the environment on this lot is to make it the home of the pollution sucker 2000. Its job is to take all of the pollution out of the air and after a year of sucking, it plops out a puppy in return. The technology is very advance. This will greatly benefit the environment as well as the general happiness of everyone in the world.

For my journal page, I took a much more literal route.

IMG_0074

A bus route! If you don’t live in St. Louis, then you need to know that we have a pretty awful public transportation system. Nonetheless, I attempted to copy down the Metro Bus route around Oakville.

IMG_0076

To make it seem like I actually put something on the page besides a squiggly green line, I also included some locations around the route. I think it is a pretty accurate representation of route 17.

I guess that is all for this week. I will be waiting in anticipation for your double post on Sunday since you forgot last week.

– Captain Spazzmataz

Sickly Wrecking

Dearest Captain Spazzmataz,

I hope the remainder of your first week back went well.  Mine was only okay.  I have one class that forgot how to be functioning people, and they’re right in the middle of the day.  Because of this, they kind of put a damper on my general feelings about the school day as a whole.  It’s lame, but I’m hoping it’ll improve.  And if not, I’ll just have to keep in mind the fact that my other classes have been going really well.  Drama started up again, and it’s been a lot of fun.  Right now we’re just doing a lot of team building activities, but they show a lot of promise.  And the class is full, which means I can actually be selective about my actors this year.  Hooray!

Thanks to my illness, my weekend has been rather uneventful.  It started out good.  On Friday, I got tasty sushi with my little and then went around doing a kind act.  After sushi, Little and I went to Hurts, where on impulse I bought a half dozen glazed donuts just to deliver to other people.  Five of them went to Imo’s, where Sparhawk and company were working, and one went to BBKF, who was having a bad day.  I hung out with her at the family video until her shift ended, and then she came over to my house.  We were supposed to watch a movie, but the illness struck.  I ended up falling asleep, which is what I did for most of my weekend.  Yesterday, I slept at least fifteen hours.  And I still went to sleep in a timely fashion once Sparhawk got back from work.

When I was awake, good things happened.  I got a haircut, which I love.  The back is all nice and layered and not mulletish at all now.  Afterwards I went to Imo’s to nom on some delicious lunch items, and then hurried back to take the girlies to the dog park.  As you recall, they did pretty well.  Nyx still hates dogs that are notably larger than her.  Which is most dogs.  But oh well.  After that, I swung by the library to pick up some books and my new/old items.  I’ve currently read four books in 2015!  And then I abruptly went to sleep.  I know I haven’t been feeling well because I’ve eaten very little all weekend.  You know that’s not normally my life.

Despite illness, I still have my wrecking completed!  It was by goal to get them done in a timely fashion.  Tonight I’m going with BBKF to see the Hobbit and have dinner, whether I feel up to it or not.  I’ve already canceled once, so I promised myself the only way I wouldn’t be going was if I had a fever or was throwing up.  Fortunately neither have happened.

Anyhow, my tasks this week were pretty simple.

For my post card I had to collect fruit stickers.  I actually worked on this one all week, pealing a sticker off my daily fruit whenever possible.  Unfortunately, we only have apples and bananas right now, as not much else is in season and delicious.  But I still managed to cover the card fairly well.

IMG_4708

For my wreckage, I completed one you have done before and made this nice little message for Sparhawk.

IMG_4709

It will be really easy to put it in his pockets.  I’ve decided I’m going to put it in a pair of his fancy pants, and then he’ll end up seeing it when he’s substitute teaching.  I think it’ll make a good surprise.

That’s all from me today!  I hope your concert went really well and that it was a fun time!  I look forward to your post!

Love,

Super Koala

Back to School

Dearest Super Koala,

School has officially started back up! I was kind of okay with going back, but then again I was kind of not. I really just wanted to stay at home and sleep in and hang out with you and the puppies. I think I even got a little bed sick because whenever I got out of bed I felt a little queasy. I even took a nap yesterday because I was so tired. I napped from 6-7, and then I went straight to sleep at 9 and didn’t wake up until my alarm went off at 5:51 the next morning. Today however, I felt much better with all of the sleep that I got.

Any way, Sunday was my super day of cleaning. I re wiped down all of the surfaces in the bathroom, and then I spent 6 hours deep cleaning my room. It was all I did all day. I didn’t even change out of my jammies. Then, of course, on Monday I had to return to school. Nothing exciting happened except for the fact that I didn’t have any Spanish homework, and we got to meet our final biology teacher for the year. Her name is Mrs. Oesch, but the o is silent so it is really just esch. She is a new teacher and did her first semester of teaching in the Ferguson Florissant district. She said that all of the kids there were really great and she loved teaching there. Tuesday was the first jazz band class we had after being back from break. Like usual we did nothing except plan our next pancake party which will be on Friday. Hehe. We also took turns drawing this beautiful picture on the board.

IMG_0008

It wasn’t originally a person, but somehow it turned out that way. Tuesday night my watch finally came in the mail and I got to wear it to school on Wednesday. It was super exciting, and I got lots of compliments. The only bad thing was that it is too big to wear on my right hand. It gets in the way of my writing, so I had to move my fitbit to my right hand. Now every time I go to check the time I always look at my right wrist first because I got used to that. Today we had an actual jazz rehearsal, but it is with a different group. This jazz band is made up of people out of wind symphony. So once a week, we are pulled out and rehearse jazz. It was actually really fun. It is a traditional jazz band, so no flutes or clarinets were allowed to join, but Mr. P teaches it and he is just so entertaining. I guess that is all that has happened this week. I have been reading a lot because I have cut back on my Netflix intake so I have much more free time.

As for my wrecking, I am seriously running out of options for last minute wrecking. I really need to start planning ahead. Anyway, I managed to pull it off for one more week.

IMG_0013

IMG_0014

My postcard was pretty easy except for the fact that I had to step outside to see what I would see while walking to the mailbox. It was very chilly and I did not appreciate it.

IMG_0015

My journal page was much more difficult. This was one of the only ones that I could do without pre-planning. I had no idea what I could find that is colorful and smushable. Finally I had a stroke of genius.

IMG_0016

I saw this lovely colored armadillo stress ball. Then I decided that I would color the different sections on his back to leave a print on the page.

IMG_0017

I colored each section to match the color on its back, then I squished it against the page. The pink didn’t show up because I used a different type of marker for that one, but all of the other colors appeared quite nicely.

IMG_0018

I like it. And it was creative!

That is all I have for this week. I have a very busy weekend ahead of me, so I will be looking forward to your post on Sunday.

2014: A Haphazard Reflection

In the following post I, Super Koala, will attempt to reflect upon the year 2014.  I’ve never done a reflection type post like this, and I tend to forget relatively important details, so we’ll see how my portion of this works.  Captain Spazzmataz will be posting below me.

Super Koala’s 2014

January: I came to the very important and impacting realization that I was going to purchase a house.  January launched a month of house hunting, scouring areas of Springfield I didn’t even know existed, and important life conversations.  I also started my second semester teaching, a little smarter and wiser than I was at the beginning of the school year.

February: With the guidance of my rad parents, I closed on THE house, making me an almost official homeowner.  I road in a wheelbarrow at my job, and realized I needed to find more hobbies in the face of tremendous snow days.  Sparhawk bought me an infinity ring for Valentine’s Day, an adorable trinket I’d semi-secretly lusted after for easily a year.  It was a tremendous victory; I wear it nearly every day.

March: I experienced my first paid Spring Break, which we got to keep even with tremendous snow days.  Spazzmataz and I actually adventured outside during the break, and we officially began this excellent little blog.  I realized what it meant to put on a play, thus gaining tremendous respect for all who endeavor to do so professionally.  Seriously.  Go you.

April: During one very perfect weekend that included my sister and father in Springfield, my first 5k, and an AllTimeLow concert, I turned 23.  I fell in fascination with John and Hank Green, the most delightful siblings I can think of excluding the Spazz and myself.  Sparhawk performed his senior recital; I was so impressed.  I chopped off all my hair, received the keys to my house, ate a first meal of Sonic in the house with my Spirit Dog, and we officially completed the play.  It was the best of times; it was the worst of times.  Secretly the best.

May: After months of anticipation, Sparhawk and I moved into the house.  I did terrible and wonderful things like pick out furniture.  I finished my first year of teaching and attended my first graduation as a teacher.  I understood why my job is so fantastic, and settled in for my first teacher summer.  PapaBird came to town for a week and a half and made my house essentially perfect while we went on many Springfield adventures.

June: I did not go to Hawaii.  This was obviously an utter tragedy.  However, I did spend a week in St. Louis with just my mother and my dog.  I unpacked my entire life’s worth of belongings.  At the end of the month, we adopted a new furry child.  Insanity and hilarity have ensued ever since.

July: Turns out, owning a house means lots of random people ring your doorbell and want things from you that you don’t want to give them.  In response, I semi-stopped opening the door.  Whoops.  The Spazzmataz’s monthly visit to Springfield came to a sad ending.  Not that anything sad happened, other than her departure.  Annabelle saved us from a potentially sketchy guest, making her the best puppy ever.  Baby Nyx decided to love me but to continue hating Sparhawk.  I risked my life Ziplining, but rollercoasters made me feel better.

August: The new school year started, and Sparhawk began his student teaching.  BooBoo joined Spazz and I at the wonderful YMCA bookfair where many books were purchased.  An excessive amount of used books was not enough.  Spazzmataz and I had to go to Barnes and Noble to find the materials that would launch our postcard and wrecking project.  5 o’clock in the morning became my regular acquaintance, causing many theoretical tears.

September: Settling into the swing of the new school year took some adjustment.  But my group of Spawn Boys, as I shall always remember them, quickly formed.  The weather was beautiful, hours were spent at the dogpark, and the pumpkin items that delight my soul came out to play.  Sparhawk and I spent the most perfect morning I can think of, at the farmer’s market with the pups followed by breakfast at the Aviary.  I remembered that it’s important to socialize, even if I just want to introvert it up on a daily basis.

October: By complete random happenstance, I saw a simultaneous blood moon and a lunar eclipse.  5 AM seemed a little less scary afterwards.  For some unknown reason, I got really into high school softball.  The craze has faded.  Spazz and I ran our third 5k, and got fancy medals for our performance.  I discovered the most exquisite of events, the Pets and Pumpkins Parade, and many very missed friends came back into town for Homecoming.

November: Time began to fly at school.  Everything that seemed hard to manage got easier.  I got to be a speech coach again, and my students did a really excellent job.  I got all nostalgic and got to reunite with a college friend/fellow coach.  I got back into writing but quickly fell out of it again.  Sadness.  Nyxie frolicked in the snow for the first time, and I began to covertly feed Izzie treats.  This makes me feel like I’m interacting with my neighbors, which doesn’t make any sense.

December: The last days of the semester flew by at an alarming rate, and rapidly closed another period of time in my crazy career.  I feel like I learned a lot in the fall semester, and I want to remember to apply all that I’ve learned in the spring.  I set goals for myself that I want to meet, if not exceed.  I spent some very excellent Silver Dollar City time with a very excellent boy, reminding me why I appreciate him so much.  I purchased tickets to see the love of my life (Bo Burnham) live.  Finally, the puppy girls and I headed forth to St. Louis, where we had much needed family time, landing me right here on the bed in the basement where I now type.

What up, 2015?

Captain Spazzmataz’s 2014

January: January marked the beginning of a second semester that started almost an entire week late because of massive amounts of snow. It was also the time that I decided that I was going to run a marathon by the time I graduated College, and thus began the great race of a lifetime.

February: I cannot remember a thing from February, so I guess it was a waste of a month.

March: The thing that is The Adventures of Super Koala And Captain Spazzmataz came to life. Also a very snowy Spring Break.

April: I turned 16 and got my drivers license, attended my first ever concert, and completed my first ever 5K.

May: I finally finished school on the last day of the month and got a major hair cut.

June: I took an amazing trip to Hawaii with the great Oakville Marching Band. It will probably be the band trip to beat from here on out. I also spent the first half of time with Super Koala in Springfield, and I had to  choke down parts of The Omnivore’s Dilemma.

July: My time with Super Koala ended, but over the course of it, she got a new dog, and we went on many adventures including a second 5K. Band camp started and I got awesomely horrible tan lines that are still visible in some place.

August: The new school year started and so did my grueling practice for All Suburban auditions (even though they weren’t until November).

September: The competitions for marching season began, and we really sucked, but we kept keppin on. This month also started my great semester of procrastination.

October: I completed my third 5K and visited my first possible college. The marching season came to an end with a fantastic win.

November: I made All Suburban band! Also, the school year started to come to a close, and I could feel the pressure to get all A’s. I also got my braces off!

December: The last days of school flew by, and I wasn’t even stressed by the time finals week rolled around. I finished the semester with all A’s, and I finished the year with my sister. It was the first time that I have ever made resolutions and drank sparkling grape juice.

I am terribly sorry that I don’t have more to reflect on, but it seems as though my memory is worse than Super Koala’s. Hopefully next year I will be able to remember more.

Eventual, Inevitable Wreckage

Dearest Captain Spazzmataz,

It’s slightly silly to be addressing this post to you as you are currently sitting next to me watching The Dark Knight.  However, I am finally, finally completing my post for the week.  For all readers that may not know, we technically took this week off for holiday celebrations.  But I’m not off the hook for my missing post from this past Sunday.  To compensate, this post will be quite large.

Phase One: The Sister Bag

As pointed out in your last post, it’s been quite some time since I did anything with the Sister Bag.  This is all my fault.  I had planned a really excellent adventure with the pups that involved lots of outside time.  But the weather never once cooperated.  Up until Christmas, it had been weeks since I had seen the sun.  And if the puppy girls don’t appreciate one thing, it’s mist.  To prepare for a Sister Bag exchange, I decided to take the bag everywhere I went for two days.  Keeping this in mind, I tried to go places I particularly enjoyed.

On Friday, I only went two places due to not feeling well.  The first place I went was, of course, school, where it was our last day of the semester.  I have this lovely picture taken inside my classroom door.

IMG_4590

After school, I swung by GameStop.  I had forgotten there was one so close to my house.  I acquired the missing to piece to my video game collection, the second Kingdom Hearts installment.  Bliss.

IMG_4592

On Saturday, I set out determined to do excellent things.  Unfortunately the weather looked like this:

IMG_4596

It stayed gray and misty all day.  Not surprising.  I was not deterred.

I think one of my favorite places in all of Springfield has to be the Humane Society.  But we all know it’s not safe for me to go there.  Instead I snapped this quick picture of it.  Pretend like I was there.

IMG_4597 IMG_4600

I hate taking selfies in public.  Haaaate it.  So I took one in my car before embarkation.  The rest were taken as I walked from the various places.  I made sure to include the bag strap in every picture so you know it was there.

The first place I went was the library.  I felt very proud of my book selection.  I only picked out four books as opposed to my usual, excessive stack, so this feels way more manageable.

IMG_4602 IMG_4603

Next, Starbucks.  I acquired myself one of their special holiday drinks.  And it was completely free.IMG_4604

Next, I spent some time on Pickwick to go by Elle’s and Imo’s.  I took a picture with what should be your bag of macarons.  So dad.  Also, you can see the ever illusive Sparhawk behind the counter at Imo’s and some delicious garlic cheese bread.

IMG_4605 IMG_4606 IMG_4607

The final stop was Hurts Donuts.  I thought about making other stops, but they all involved food or books, so I figured I’d stop with this one.  Obviously, my rainy and chilly Saturdays have a common theme.

IMG_4608 IMG_4609

Delicious.  I don’t think I actually ate one on Saturday.  As you can tell, I consumed a lot of food.  But I always love Hurts.

Phase Two: The Wreckage

As you recall, I owe two wreckings and two postcards.  I have finally completed all of these!

My first wreckage was very easy.  I accepted the cardboard challenge.  I figured it would be incredibly easy, and I was right.

I set out into the basement to find any form of cardboard.  I started to grow semi-nervous.  I found so much cardboard, but it was all attached to boxes.  I didn’t want to destroy something that belonged to Mom or Dad.  Then I remembered the recycling bin, and the challenge was completed.  It only took one minute and forty-eight seconds.  Boom.

IMG_4643 IMG_4644 IMG_4645

My second wreckage was also pretty straightforward.  I attempted to map our typical puppy walk route when the girls and I are in town.  I did very poorly.  Apparently, I’m bad at scaling distance.  But, y’know, it’s a general estimate.

IMG_4655 IMG_4656

Phase Three: The Postcards

For my first card, I played a game with the girls.  No one else was around for me to fortune tell with.  I don’t think we’ve done this one yet, so I provided a visual of what the card looks like.  I had to cut it into pieces, so it obviously won’t be mailed to anyone.

IMG_4646 IMG_4647

Annabelle was absolutely desperate to play.  So she asked the first question.  “Will I get treats tomorrow?”IMG_4648

Her first card was a simple “maybe,” which made her look terribly depressed.

IMG_4649

I cheated and got her a new card to restore happiness.

IMG_4651

Nyx asked the obvious question.  The one she contemplates every single day.  The question was, “Will tomorrow be the day I take over the world?”  The cards responded in a way she can live with.

IMG_4652

To be fair, I had to ask a question, too.  I asked, “Will I have an absolutely delicious dinner tomorrow night?”  The cards know all.

IMG_4654

For my last task, I forgot to take a before picture.  But I completed the idea generator.  For the first box, I kind of forgot that it was supposed to be things in nature, so I got a little off course.  Regardless, I came up with the outstanding “Marvelous Mud Facewash” as my new product.  It’s been a while since I sent off a card, so I think I’m going to mail this one.  I’ll provide product details to the lucky recipient.

IMG_4657

Well there it is!  I am done!  Hope you enjoy; I’ll look forward to yours.

Stolen Idea Wrecking

Dearest Captain Spazzmataz,

I forgive you despite your belated wreckage and the re-theft of my beloved watch.  I hope you had a nice time at State yesterday.  The merit badges were a great idea, and I’m so proud of you for talking to people you don’t know!  So brave!

Ideally, your Spanish grade is still okay.  You’ve done well in that class all semester, so I imagine it’ll be fine.  That way your almost 4.0 can continue!  Such a smarty-article.

Obviously you should make more lists.  That might help with your busy forgetfulness.  It definitely helps mine.  Yesterday, I was super productive thanks to my almighty list making.  However, that productivity fizzled out today.  Also, I’ve felt semi-sickish, which hasn’t helped.  Fortunately, yesterday was so productive that it’s not so bad I didn’t do much today.

One of the things I did do was finally put my recent tickets in that book I got from ModCloth.  I thought I’d show you a picture.  It’s a rather pleasant book.  Among other cutesy things, I dedicated almost an hour to catching up my Happiness Project book.  I had a bunch of missing gaps since September.  It wasn’t all blank, but a lot of it was.  I used this blog to go back and fill it all in.  When was the last time you used your Happiness book?  It’s almost time to start the next year.

I also completed my wreckings in a timely fashion.  Though I stole your idea.  Behold!

My post card was a little difficult to photograph due to the secret nature of its content.  So I have provided you the before picture, a shot of the colors I used, and the aftermath.  I went for the destroy option because sending my secrets to a stranger totally freaks me out.  It would probably freak out the stranger, too.  I know I don’t want some random person sending me their secret business.IMG_3619 IMG_3620

I originally was going to cut it into super tiny pieces, but as you can see, that became an impossible option.  So instead I ripped it into super tiny pieces.  It was a very thrilling chunk of time.

I stole your idea for the wrecking.  I had been grading, and decided to take a nice Netflix break.  Originally, I had been watching Criminal Minds, but I changed it to a comedy special for more uplifting doodle inspiration.  It’s not quite done.  Maybe I’ll doodle more at a later time.  I could only do one page since the remnants of my compost page was on the other side.  I should go check that some time.  Maybe when you’re here.

While I enjoyed my doodling it was made slightly difficult by the fact that I couldn’t move my legs the entire time.  They were quite embedded in puppy cuddles, as you can see.

Well that’s it for me!  I’m going to resume my grading.  I’m excited to have you come visit this weekend!  You and Mom should come up with some ideas for what you want to do.

Love,

Super Koala

I am the WORST (and a dirty rotten liar)

Dearest Super Koala,

I know that you are expecting a fantabulous post, but that is not what you will receive. I have not been very good at managing my time lately and I have been very forgetful. I forgot to bring my wrecking books to school today, so I will have no wrecking in this post, however, I will make really amazing ones on the way down to auditions tomorrow to make up for it, and I will post them on a separate post as soon as I get back.

Like I said, I have been very lazy and busy and forgetful all at the same time this week. Monday I had a Spanish test, and it was the worst I had ever done. Then I had a biology test, but that one went much better, I am pretty sure I aced it. Monday night I had my first All Suburban rehearsal. I really like all of the music we are playing, and it isn’t nearly as difficult as it was last year. Last year’s music was to the point where it was almost too difficult to make it sound nice in the short time that we had. On Tuesday, I discovered the American Film Institute’s list of 100 top movies of all time. Shortly after viewing the list, I decided that I wanted to make a mini life goal of watching all 100 movies. There isn’t a movie newer than 2001, but I have seen some of them and others I want to see, so I think it will be really fun.

Wednesday was probably the best day this week. During jazz band that day, we decided that we were going to do a secrete santa and have a ginger-bread house making contest! It is very exciting. The only bad thing is that I got someone that I don’t really know all that well to give a gift to. Oh well, I will figure out something. For our house making contest we split up into three teams that were drawn out of a hat, and then we came up with rules and plans. Mr. P is going to be the judge, and the criteria are stability, appearance, and theme. We can’t use any cardboard on the inside for structure; we can only build it out of graham-crackers, icing, and candy. I wound up on a team with Mr. Brakefield and my friend Erin! We totally have the best team. It took us a really long time to come up with a theme, but after seeing the phrase Ho Ho Ho, Mr. Brakefield thought of doing a sorority house! We totally went with it and we have a great plan. We will be building them next Wednesday, so I will be able to show you pictures the day after. I am so excited. After that, I had clarinet choir which was really fun this week. Normally it is pretty boring, but for some unknown reason, it was just better this week.

Yesterday I went to the orthodontist and they told me that I only have to wear my retainers at night now! Also, I wont have another appointment for six months. After that I had saxophone lessons, and we picked out what solo  I am going to do for solo and ensemble this year. It sounds really cool, and Mr. Buerk seemed really excited about it. We got home, I did my homework, ate dinner, and then Mom and I went across the street for a jewelry party. It wasn’t bad, and in the end I got some stuff, it is just that they are so boring. I didn’t stay long, but I was still sadly late for our reading date, and I didn’t have time to post. Today I checked my grades, and I have all A’s except for an 89% in AP Language. We have a couple big things to turn in soon, so I am pretty sure that I can bring it up and come out of the semester with over a 4.0! Also, tonight I did the craft fair set up, and I am really upset because I didn’t realize that my fitbit had died! I only got about 300 steps today when I should have made it to 10,000. Anyway, I didn’t have to do the awful job of taping down the electrical outlets like I did last year, and someone brought gooey butter cookies for everyone, so I guess it wasn’t so bad.

I am so sorry that my posting scheduel has been so messed up lately. Hopefully after this one I will get my stuff together and be more on top of things.

P.S. I am just going to give Sparhawk your watch tomorrow, so I wont make a grand watch adventure post. (especially since I forgot to take pictures on Monday and Today, so it wouldn’t be that exciting anyway)

Quickly posting

Dearest Super Koala,

I have to make this post quick because I have to get ready for the Fox! I know you will be unhappy with me at this news, but at least I was able to properly manage my time today and am able to make a post. Now on to my very exciting week!

Last Friday, I went over to Shannon’s house. We have begun an adventure list of our own, and it is very exciting. To kick off our adventures, the first thing we did was cook a very fancy dinner. We made Red Lobster biscuits, a three-cheese pasta bake, steamed broccoli (for the Shan), and a pumpkin cheesecake pie. It was absolutely delicious. Before we ate, we put on fancy dresses and tiaras, set the table with china dishes and wine glasses, lit candles and dimmed the lights, and put on lovely classical music. It was pretty magical.

After dinner we watched a movie and ate our pie. It was wonderful.

Saturday was much lazier as I said when we spoke. However, we did have something to do on Sunday. I am terribly sorry for falsely informing you. We went to a charity performance at Lafayette where Ady had her first ever dance performance, and Winter’s school cheer-leading team also performed. A bunch of other groups performed as well, but we went to see them of course. Ady was first and her group was a-dor-able! They danced to Frosty the Snowman, and they had little top hats and fluffy tu-tus and it was precious. The entire time all Tanner wanted to do was go and dance with Ady. Then, when Winter performed, of course she was a flyer. They didn’t do any tosses because they are only 6th graders, but she was bounced up. She looked so nervous. Her shoulders were all scrunched up by her ears and she was kind of hunched over. Other than that, she did really well, and hit all of her spots as far as I could tell. All in all it was a good time, and it was nice to see everyone.

Monday and Tuesday were pretty boring, so there is not much to tell. Yesterday I had clarinet choir after school. We were sight reading a new piece and there was one spot where the bases kept playing on the up beats when they were supposed to be playing on the down beats. Instead of just telling them this, Brakefield says, “Guys, Mozart was white, there is no syncopation in this song!” We all started cracking up and Mr. P is in the back of the room and says, “I miss watching Brakefield teach. It is so amusing!” So that was a good time. Then I had an eye doctor appointment later that night and I found out that my vision is 92/67. If perfect is 20/20, then my eyes are…….awful. Oh well. I told Shannon this and she said that I needed to start giving them pep-talks in the mirror every night telling them to see better. Today during jazz band the power went out in the whole school!!! It was so exciting! It didn’t come back for the rest of the day, so we just sat around a table and listened to Brakefield and Perkowski tell stories of their most unexpected teaching experiences. One of them was that while on a band trip, one kid had a small bag of legos and then proceeded to see how many he could fit up his nose. He got one stuck and Mr. P wound up having to pull it out with pliers. I don’t even know how that happens. I mean who thinks that is a good idea!? Anyway, they think the transformer might have blown, and if that is the case we might not have school tomorrow because the power wouldn’t be back on by then! So exciting. We will see what happens.

As for my wrecking, I was not nearly as ambitious as I was last week.

20141120_173608

I guess I sort of cheated for my journal page because I used the strap I made for the last page.

20141120_173719

You can’t really see the book, but I made the strap really long and it was very difficult to get a good shot of it. My postcard was a little more thought out.

20141120_174010

If you can’t read it, it is the postcard of random thoughts.

20141120_175034

On the front, as you can tell, I put many swirlies to represent all of my random thoughts. On the back I wrote a string of thoughts that came into my head starting with glitter and ending in foot pains. I also wrote in in obnoxious lime green pen. I think it is beautiful, but the person who receives it may be slightly unappreciative.

That is all for this week. I hope your weekend goes better than this past one.

P.S. Why haven’t I been sent any book!?

P.P.S. I have $8 in my box which means I was able to make my goal of $5 this week!
